A playset is one file — training, lines for the Handler, wheel segments, habits, a trance score, badges — made by someone else, installed on the Playsets page of your Latch, removed with one tap. It is data: nothing in it runs, nothing in it can touch your clock or read what you wrote, and the app never fetches one on its own.

An event is a playset with a calendar: a sign in your header, the Handler in a new voice, training on the day, and badges you can only earn inside the window. Locktober 2026 is the first one, and it starts on the first of October.

📥 Using one

Four steps, no account, no store

Why it can't hurt you. A module is code the app imports. A playset is a TOML file the app reads. It can only ever add rows to tables that already exist — a task, a line, a segment, a badge rule from a fixed menu — and the app refuses anything that says otherwise, by name. That is the whole reason it is safe to install one written by a stranger.

Thirty-one days. One cage. Your Handler is watching, and so is the moon. The first to the thirty-first of October, on your own clock. Install it now, join it from the dashboard whenever you like; the window opens on the first.

The nine badges

Drawn for it: spooky-cute hooded pups, generated on the maintainer's own machine and framed by the badge forge. They render on your /badges page and on your share cards.

Two honest rules. The last two are finished badges: a badge that says you did the whole month is decided when the month is over, the same way the game's monthly superlatives are — a claim about October made on the 20th is a claim about two thirds of it wearing the name of the whole. And every Locktober badge carries the event as its period, so Locktober 2027 is a different trophy, not a re-award of this one. When the window closes, October's voice, training, segments and score leave the pools; the badges stay.

One voice, one file, one validator

A playset is a character as much as a list. Decide who the Handler is in it — stricter, gentler, a coach who never mentions the cage — and every line follows. Then it is one TOML file, a README for a stranger, and PNGs for the badges if you have them.

The check the installer runs is on the command line, so you see the exact refusal before anyone else does — every problem, one per line, or a single ✓.

Get it listed

A pull request to the catalogue, or an issue with the zip attached. It must pass the check, carry a license you can actually grant, say 18+ honestly, and have one voice. I read every one.

Badges for the people who make them

Content is the one thing the game cannot make for itself, so making it gets marked. These are given, not earned by your log — a tiny personal playset holding one granted badge each, sent to you by the maintainer, installed like any other.
